We’re in double digits!! Today my baby turns 10. Well obviously she is no longer a baby, but she’s my baby. She loves pink and everything glitter so here’s the 10th birthday card that I made for her…

10th Birthday Card with Number of Years stamp set

People often ask me where I start when I make a card and I can honestly say it’s never the same place. For this one I knew I needed pink and I knew I needed glitter, so that’s where I started. I immediately thought of the stars background paper because it’s my favorite sheet from the It’s My Party paper pack. Why use a little when you can use a lot? That’s how it became the full background.

I pulled out all my different colors of glitter paper and thought the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper went with the star paper the best. It also happens to be my favorite. I knew I wanted to use it for the 10. You may remember my new best friend the Number of Years BundleYou may also remember that I told you to order it quick before it went on backorder. Well it did indeed, but there’s a new batch coming in next week so order it quick before those are gone too.

10th Birthday Card made with Number of Years stamp set

The number die cuts fit great on a circle. I pulled out a few different colors (Bermuda Bay, Whisper White, etc) but decided I needed to stick with pink so I went with Pink Pirouette. After I cut my circle I used the circle template from the Updated Essentials pack, the Stampin’ Pierce Mat and my Paper-Piercing Tool to punch little holes around the circle. I was amazed by how much it added! I put Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of it immediately so I wouldn’t smush down the piercing when I glued on the numbers and greeting. Yes “smush” is a real word and it happens when you’re paper-piercing. It looks better when you don’t smush, trust me.

Putting glue on little pieces can be a pain. Let me introduce you to another of my friends: the Silicone Craft Sheet. If you are constantly getting adhesive where you don’t want it, this is what you need. I put my little pieces on top of it and add my adhesive to the back. The extra adhesive does not stick to the sheet so there’s no extra mess to clean up. Brilliant!

So there you go, a 10th Birthday card for my baby girl who I will still be calling my baby girl when she’s 50. Hope it inspired you!
