17th Anniversary Giveaway & Specials

By April 27, 2016Uncategorized

Wow! When I signed up to be a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator 17 years ago to get a discount on my loooooong wishlist of stamping supplies, I never imagined that this is where I would be 17 years later. Stampin’ Up! not only supplied me with fabulous stamping supplies over the years, they also encouraged my love of travel through conventions around the US and incentive trips around the world.

Yesterday we received our travel packet for the upcoming Mediterranean cruise next month. My husband has never expressed an interest in traveling to Europe so I’m super excited that this free trip from Stampin’ Up! was the key to getting him there!! It’s the first time in 10+ years that we’ll have a full week together without the kids. Yippee!!

Speaking of the kids, I love the flexibility of being a demonstrator. Over the years it’s allowed me to be a full time demonstrator, a stay-at-home mom, a work-at-home mom and now a homeschooling mom! It’s also allowed me to earn extra money when we needed it, get out of the house and have adult conversation when I needed it and generally fit my work in around my family. What a blessing!

So today I would like to say THANK YOU to everyone who makes this dream job a reality for me. Today I’ve got a giveaway and some specials just for you. Thank you for being part of my Stampin’ Up! adventure. You’re the best!

17th Anniversary Giveaway

Number of Years Bundle

“I am not creative.” Have you ever said that? I know I sure have! Especially when I was first getting started with stamping and card making. I had NO idea what I was doing. What drew me to Stampin’ Up! was how all of their products coordinated. I was frustrated by trying to match ink and paper colors at the local craft stores and loved that Stampin’ Up! did it for me. It’s one of the things I still love most about their products so for my anniversary I’m giving away one of my favorite coordinating products: the Number of Years stamp set & Large Numbers Framelits Dies.  Congratulations to our winner: Marcia McCullough!

  • Mary Lee Brawley says:

I was a few weeks away from retirement in July 2011, when another colleague that was also retiring asked me if I liked to scrapbook. I told her that I had purchased some albums and paper years ago to do the kids school and soccer photos but had never gotten around to starting it. She invited me to a Scrapbook Expo that month and we are now the best of friends and scrapbooking has become my favorite hobby. As we became close friends we tried to remember exactly how we met (we didn’t work in the same department, just the same floor). We realized that we must have met in the ladies room. So my very first scrapbook page was entitled “Bathroom Buddies” and we had our photo taken in the bathroom!

  • JRGH says:

I began card making about 26 years ago, with my local Stampin’ Up Demo as way to get out of the house once month and leave hubby with the kids for a small break with female adult conversation. It was the best 5.00 I spent every month to make a couple cards and just relax. Now my craft room overflows with all my stamp sets and supplies.

  • I am a late comer to art …70 years old and card making for 14 of those years)…. The first time I het embossed, I was hooked!

  • Sheri says:

I’ve been making cards and paper crafts for 3 years with Stampin’ Up! I always loved crafts since I was 13 yo (I’m 60 now). I made a cardboard Santa. It was big enough for the wall and would hold cards. Ironically, card making wasn’t done then. Now I wish I had my Santa!
Thanks Jessica for your newsletters and blogs, you keep my interest going! Great tips and cards. The prize number set is something I could use. I’ll wait until the drawing but definitely will order it. (crossing my fingers) 😉

But I hen I was introduced to stampin up I found I love this company lots more! I’m not a demonstrator I love their products.

  • Janice Repass says:

Jessica, congratulations on your anniversary!! I made my first scrapbook in 2004, when my middle daughter was getting ready to go to Olympic Trials for swimming. I decided to put together a scrapbook of all the photos and newspaper clippings I’d accumulated over her 17-year swim career, from a six-year-old league swimmer, through high school, college, and United States Swimming. I had no idea what I was doing, but did the best I could, in the hopes of giving her something to look at and smile about on the plane trip out to California, and to remind her of how far she’s come. Although I had little in the way of product to work with, the scrapbook was put together with so much love and so many happy memories, that I think it definitely had the intended affect on the recipient. Now, I make scrapbooks and cards for my grandchildren, including her daughter!! It’s such a great way to give a little something extra with a gift! Those number dies would be a great addition to my stash. Thanks for sharing and have a great trip!!!

  • Vickie B says:

Been card making for awhile and love your site to see how to get the most out of one sheet.

  • Debbie W says:

Congrats, Jessica. I’m not sure when I started but sure do enjoy it. Thanks for all your wonderful ideas and tips.

  • Chris Tunbridge says:

First let me say, Happy Anniversary! I love your emails and the stories and pictures you share. And of course I love hearing about all the trips you’ve taken. I’m looking forward to the cruise pictures.

I’ve been crafting pretty much all my life and that’s 58 years! LOL I remember painting a dresser in my bedroom as an early teen and writing stories and drawing pictures well before that. I started getting into scrapbooking when my daughter joined the Air Force 16 years ago. I now have approximately 16 scrapbooks, one for every year she’s been active duty! She is expecting her first baby next month, so I will now have something new to focus on!

My latest card obsession is using adult coloring books to make card fronts. I love the focus of coloring and then cutting the sheets to make cards. I then use my stamps to add a sentiment.

  • Dawn says:

My sister-in-law Linda introduced me to the fun a couple of years ago. I love making cards. Thank you for your blogs they really help us out.

  • Gloria Wolter says:

I love your card making tutorials.

  • Diana Craig says:

I started by taking Creative Memories classes before I started my family about 24 years ago but found years later that cardmaking is a better creative outlet for me (and has saved $$ buying them at the store). I learned how to do this with Stampin’ up about 16 years ago. I’ve even helped a customer at a crafts store matching up colors! I’ve learned so much about color and design from SU consultants/workshops!!

I became a Papercrafter in 1997 when I scrapbooked my mom’s 75th birthday party. My son was a pre-teen at the time, so it gave me another way to show him how much I loved him during those awkward years. My mom always said Scrapbooking was an extension of my love for crafts and paper dolls. My son treasures the books I have made. He is using the book from our Paris trip to plan a trip there with his wife! How special is that? Now that I am retired I have branched into Card Making. Your creativity has inspired me in just the few months I have found your website! I am so grateful for you and your daily inspiration. My sister in New Mexico and I chat about your cards and suggestions every week. Thank you! Enjoy your cruise!

I’ve been stamping for over 20 years. Love it even more now. Karen

The Christmas catalog and the new Occasions catalog were the BEST!!! My daughter in law was a demonstrator for a while also. But she lives too far away to stamp with her except when we visit them in Virginia. I love seeing Jessica’s ideas and new things to do. Please keep up the good work.

Hi Jessica, Happy Anniversary! I am really happy to hear from you, and appreciate your encouragement in my life through crafting ideas and Facebook posts, offers to encourage and support your readers through prayer, and the other ways that you reach out consistently. Thank you for being you, and for sharing your talents with us.

I started paper crafting as a young child. One of my earliest memories was in first grade. I was a latchkey kid, and my Mom asked Mrs. Odgers if I could stay after school for an extra hour, until she got home from work. Mrs. Odgers, an amazing woman, would set out tissue paper, scissors, and a stapler for me to make flowers. They were beautiful! Little did she know that she was starting an amazing life journey of crafting with her little shadow. And here we are, 50 years later!

Best wishes to all that enter your contest, and thanks for being so generous! Best wishes, Patricia

  • Marcia says:

I started stamping in 1993. A very crafty friend introduced me to embossing and I thought it was the coolest thing. My first project was to make the place cards for my son’s Bar Mitzvah. Little did I know that would begin a hobby that would provide me with many hours of happiness making cards, etc.

  • Lisa M. says:

I started scrapping in 1998 to make a thank you for my parents, who took us to WOW and Kennedy Space Center. I thought I had to make a layout for every ride, meal and experience. Three years, three volumes and EIGHTY-FOUR layouts later….. Fast forward to the present: I volunteer-teach paper arts to seniors. I supply all the tools, stamps and dies, so this set would be a welcome addition to my stash. (Besides, I’ve been coveting the stamps and dies since I first saw them!)

Hope your trip is wonderful– you’very earned it!Lisa

  • Robin Bennett says:

I remember making home made cards when I was just a young girl. I am now 55 so it would have been about 45 years ago that I started making cards. I would color a pretty picture out of a coloring book and then cut parts of it on to folded construction paper. Of course, things have progressed through the years!! I also started scrapbooks then. I have silly things in that book – my dog’s hair from his first haircut, my first valentine from a school boy. Thanks for helping me remember those fun innocent years!! Thanks for the chance to win. Happy Anniversary too!!!!! I love what you create for us.

Dear Jessica, I have been paper-crafting for about 22 years, very little at the beginning (as I was still working and living on the farm). My first stamp set was “Ewe Are Loved” because we were raising sheep at the time. I still use the “stamped especially for ewe” stamp on the backs of my cards. Only send homemade cards now and help newbys to learn how. I have only been with Stampin’ Up, although have bought a few ‘renegade’ stamps over the years. Love your CAS approach to stamping!! Thanks for all your inspiration.

And another thing I love about it is that I can bless others by what I make. 🙂 A win-win situation for everyone!

Glad you won your trip, you deserve it.

  • Billie Thoeming says:

Jessica, congratulations on 17 years. Not sure, but I think it has been about that long for me. I started with making a scrapbook for my granddaughters wedding. I made her a scrapbook of her life, from the time she was born until her wedding. I even got a small piece of her “blankie” from her mother and scrapbooked it in. It took me so long though, I decided cardmaking was for me. Believe it or not, I still, after all these years, have a problem matching things. I think that might be because when I shop, I shop for things I like, not things that match. So, I subscribe to a lot of websites and go through every newsletter i receive. I also buy books and magazines to help. The thing that really gets me is; I introduced my best friend to it and she does such a better job than I do. Her cards put mine to shame. I guess yours is my favorite newsletter, because I have 22 of your newsletters saved in my emails. Thanks and keep them coming.

Congrats Jessica, I too enjoy all Stampin Up products going on 10 yrs buying these products. Thank you for assisting me with my orders.
May you be around many more years as a demonstrator!

  • Leah Savage says:

My daughter became interested in stampin up over 5 years ago……I told her I had no desire to start a new hobby, I did not have time but here is some money to order some supplies and make me some cards. Well…..I am now addicted to almost everything stampin up and she has lost almost all interest. 🙂 I enjoy your blog and thanks for the sneek peek at the new stuff. Thanks also for such a great opportunity for us all to add to our collection. Happy stamping.

  • Carol Kizziar says:

Congratulations on your service! You have been such an inspiration to me. Thank you for all that you share.

  • v hayes says:

About 25 years. I started with a Company in Calif. called Dots. very simple
and primitive. Things have certainly changed over the years, much much

  • Nancy Rauch says:

I was a consultant from the Fall of 2004 to the Spring of 2008. When my health became an issue I had to give up the consulting but still enjoyed doing projects. A few years ago my sister became a consultant and enjoyed teaching 2 class at her local senior center, one for beginners and an advanced class. She found it very rewarding and did it until she passed last Christmas. I now enjoy the one sheet wonders and the paper pumpkins and I greatly enjoy all the ideas you share on line and on Facebook. Keep up the great work. ~ Nancy

  • Fran Fairman says:

Hi Jessica, I have been stamping for about 8 years now. I got interested when my employer hosted a stampin up class during lunch hour as one of the lunch and learn. I vowed when I retired I wanted to make cards. I joined a group that was close to my house. I found the demonstrator at a holiday craft show where I go to church. Been doing it ever since, love every minute. I enjoy your site very much!

  • Rosemary Rands says:

I started in 2007 when my daughter invited me to go to a Stampin-up class with her. We enjoyed it so much that we have been hooked on Stampin-Up ever since.

  • Gretchen Gobar says:

I started making cards almost 12 years now. My first Supplies were a ox I bought at a yard sale for 10 dollars. After not very long, I was hooked. Now my past time is overtaking the house.

  • Janet Henry says:

I first started scrapbooking in 1996 when my grandniece was born. After she and her brother grew older and didn’t want their pictures taken any more, I moved into cardmaking. The kids all like this better ’cause there is usually money in the cards I send them.

  • Krista says:

I had just moved from the US to BC Canada and was invited to a Stampin Up card making party. That was in 2004. Since then I have moved to Australia, back to the US and am now in Africa. I stamp everywhere I go. I love making cards as much I enjoy scrap booking. Many of the stamps and paper can be used for both.

  • Jessica Yates says:

Hi, Jessica! Thank you for the chance to win. I don’t remember exactly when I started paper crafting. I do remember that my mom taught us how to make Thank You cards for our relatives who would send us toys, money and clothes from the United States (I was living in the Philippines then). We would draw, cut and paste paper to make our cards. And mom would add additional postage because it was heavy than the regular weight and mail it to America.
I’d love to win the bundle! There’s a lady at the nursing home who is turning 104 next month and I was thinking of making her one with the numbers.

  • Rebecca yapp says:

I’ve been paper crafting for 10years but found stampin up in January this year and fell in love with everything and everyone is so helpful and friendly. I don’t live very closely to my mum and sister but this helps us keep close and in touch. I love doing kits to send them, it’s so addictive. Congrats on you 17 years ☺️

  • Pam Nose says:

I just want you to know how much I look forward to your emails, cards you share, you inspire me to try to make this work. I have finally finished my move and am almost unpacked in the main part of my home, so I will be moving on to my craft room. Then I cant wait to try some of the one sheet wonders you share, plus so much more. Thank you for sharing and CONGRATS on 17 years and hope you have many more.

  • Well, new to stamping in the last year, but I did scrapbooking for years which started back in the late 1990’s after attending a craft show in New Orleans and was introduced to a leading scrapbook retailer at the time. Does that count? Then I put everything away until recently being introduced to Stampin’ Up! I only have THREE of their stamp sets to my name and ONE set (REGALS) of stamp pads! Love them! They are the BEST (except when they come off track)! I looked like I’d been in a fight and the stamp pad won! Come here, COMET cleanser! Yes, I’m a paper hoarder. Yes, WHISPER WHITE cardstock is the BEST! I was given one sheet to try and was even hoarding that! LOL! I did, however, buy a whole pack. It certainly makes the difference! I have a local demonstrator who fortunately (or unfortunately!) lives about a mile from me! I love receiving your emails, Jessica, and watching your videos on YouTube! I absolutely LOVE you and Stampin’ Up!

  • Kevy Jones says:

I have been papercrafting for 15 years. I have mainly done scrapbooking but lately have been making cards more lately.

  • Vicki Boring says:

I have been papercrafting for 20 years. I primarily scrapbook but have recently started making cards. I enjoy seeing your creativity and beautiful cards.

  • Bobbi Crimm says:

  • Melanie Yarbrough says:

Happy 17th Anniversary Jessica! I can’t remember exactly when I started stamping. A friend invited me into her home to learn to make cards, probably about 14 years ago.

  • Anne Lewis says:

Hi Jessica, Congratulations on 17 years. I know they have been exciting for you by reading your stories and making some of your cards. I am new to stamping only been at it for about 3 years but I am definitely hooked on it. It seems like I relate everything I see to making cards . I really love the cards you share with us. Thank you.

  • Darlene reed says:

I have been stamping and scrapbooking for 15 years now! I absolutely love it and it’s my “me time”

  • Rachel Brooks says:

My mother was an artist and art teacher in several rural school. Budgets were almost nil and our income was the same. Mother MADE finger paints, modeling clay (salt & cornstarch), cut willow for basket weaving, etc., etc., so I’ve been involved since early on. I painted a mural of Cape Ann for my supervising teacher when I did my student teaching, created “Big Books” wit candy telling the stories for retirements, and was a Creative Memories demo for several years. Now I’m a Stampin’Up! hobbyist recovering from losing all my craft materials when our house burned down a year ago. Pretty devastating to see plastic cases melted over stacks of 12 x 12 paper, etc. It’s a great outlet and one that relaxes me.

  • Karen says:

I have to think about when I started crafting with Stampin’ Up – It is probably getting close to 15 years, now!

  • Diana Whipple says:

I started stamping probably 15 yrs ago. Had no intention of ever getting as involved as I ended up but the StampinUp line, along with super demonstrator, Sue Snyder, got me hooked! I love everything about SU. I have hosted parties over the years and been able to acquire so many wonderful sets…but always need “just one more!”

  • kathy says:

Been paper crafting forever really -I remember when I was little I would take a piece of cardboard, glue a piece of white paper over the top, then drawn little flowers, bees, and a sentiment and give it as a card to mom, dad, grampa or gramma -I remember making things about of paper towel rolls, toilet paper rolls…and that construction paper they sold at the local stores was pretty pathetic compared to what we can get today -ANYWAY, I have always been happy when I’ve had paper to play with!

  • Sandra says:

I have been paper crafting in one form or another for over 40 years. I started seriously focusing on scrapbooking after I retired in 1995. About 15 years ago I started making cards and haven’t stopped. I really like the one sheet wonder technique because it uses up all of a 12×12 sheet. Thanks for the opportunity to win the bundle.

  • Jane Rhude says:

I went to a scrapbooking class over 10 years ago and did that for a while. Then I had a friend who started making cards and taught me how to make a simple card. I was hooked! I drove 60 miles to attend a StampinUP day and was not only hooked, I was addicted! I have always struggled with “matching” colors, papers and so forth. StampinUP has not only taken care of that problem for me but, I believe, they have the highest quality of stamping products in the world. I plan to retire in 10 months and am purchasing as much as I can afford each month to make sure I have everything I need, (and want) to do lots and lots of card making when I retire.

  • Gwen says:

I have been paper crafting since 2005 and found Stampin Up a year later….would never go back!!! I have connected with so many friends over the years…it’s not just paper crafting…it’s my life!!! Would love to have this set….thank you for the opportunity to win it….congratualtions on 17 years!!!!
    Best of luck…

I have been paper crafting for a long time. I don’t remember the exact year I started, but started out scrapbooking. Since then I have started with cards, so I now do both! I would love to be the winner of the anniversary offer!

  • Sherie bean says:

I was one of those people when first heard of stamping up was like, I don’t do that. Now I have done some cards and am hooked. So tempted to become distributor to get a discount. I love how all the paper and inks coordinate. Congrats on 17. Hope I will still be making cards that long

  • Maureen says:

I would love to win this! I think that I started scrapbooking when I was around 7 or 8….but it was literally just putting cards and momentos in an album. I started getting more creative with it about sixteen or seventeen months ago. Now I love card making too! Thanks for the giveaway!

  • Linda Pearson says:

I have only been card making for about 6 months. I made our Christmas cards this past year. I love the one page wonder ideas and I have slowly started making birthday, sympathy and thank you cards. Thanks for all the great ideas!

  • Kathy Smith says:

    Hi Jessica
I love all your card making posts. Thank you for sharing. I have been making cards for about 20 years. My goal is to brighten someone’s day with my cards. I send out cards to family, friends and church members almost daily. ForChristmas I give out 70-80 packets of cards each containing 10 cards. I love to hear that those cards are being used because then I know that lives are being touched. The world needs more happy moments and a hand made card in the mail is bound to do just that.
Thank you again for all the ideas you share and your encouraging words along the way. I hope you have a good day!
    Have fun on your trip!

  • Lori Bauer says:

I love the one-page wonder classes! I make the birthday cards for each of the staff members at my small office. I’ve used many of the cards that I’ve made from the one-page wonder class that I signed up for. They love them!

Congratulations on 17 amazing creative years! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us and being kind enough to do a giveaway for us. <3

  • Terry Gerrior says:

Congrats on your 17 yrs and the chance to win this lovely bundle. I have been paper crafting since I can remember using what ever supplies I had. But, started using scrapbooking supplies after my Mom passed away in 2005. I tried the layouts but quickly figured this wasn’t for me. Since I always enjoyed sending card (that I bought) and did dabble in making my own notecards I started using all those supplies (and much more) to make cards and not have to hunt through all those at the stores for that perfect one.

  • Gini Morris says:

Happy 17th!!!! I started out scrapbooking in the 90’s, but then changed to card making in 2000. Wow I have been doing this a long time and didn’t even realize it. • Diana says:

I started making cards in 1997, but kids were in school, soccer practice and cub scouts took over! Then got back into card making and started scrapbooking in 2009, and haven’t stopped! It makes my heart happy to make and send a card to family and friends.

I’m wondering if you are willing to be an upline for someone who lives in another state, and how that works? I would assume that you already have downline in other states. But I’m curious how it works? I live in Utah. Just curious. And good luck to me on winning the give-away. Wink.

I started scrapbooking before it was called scrapbooking! I took pics in college, trimmed them down (gasp!) and glued them in a spiral sketch book. (No telling what kind of adhesive I used, but whatever….) I still make scrapbooks 30+ years later and started making cards about 5 years ago. I love paper crafting, and I LOVE all the ideas and suggestions I get from you! THANKS!

  • Kari says:

Congratulations on your trip and 17 years with Stampin Up. I started card making and scrapbooking this past summer. I just joined paper pumpkin in April and can’t believe I waited so long to try it out. I love it! Thank you for the opportunity to win more fun supplies!

Hi Jessica! I have been stamping for about 8 years. I started out with supplies bought at a local store and then some Walmart stuff, but then I discovered Stampin’ Up and fell in love. The big seller for me is that everything coordinates, makes everything so easy! Love it! I would love to make a full time job out of my hobby because I love to craft, but don’t get to do much since I work a full time job. Maybe one of these days…..

I love Stampin up , their stamp sets are so versatile and all their products go so nicely together. Thanks for the insperation you share with all the world.

  • I first started scrapbooking when I went as a freelance author to a Creative Memories crop. I was to interview a man who was scrapbooking his family history. This was 2003 and the idea that a man was scrapbooking was unusual. Well, I wasn’t at that Crop but 15 minutes before I put down my pen and paper and began trimming cardstock! Then I ran home, grabbed some pictures, then went back to the Crop to make my first Scrapbooking Page. A few years later, I discovered Stampin Up! and became hooked on cardmaking. Now, I do both.

Congratulations on 17 years! Hope your trip is wonderful! I have been paper crafting for over 20 years. Probably started stamping with Stampin UP about 15 years ago. My daughter and her friends would stamp together and I loved all the things they made. She got me hooked on Stampin Up and then she moved all the way across the United States (and of course took all her supplies with her ;). So I had to start building my own stash. I love the color coordinating that Stampin Up uses. I think I have more supplies than my daughter now. Thank you.

  • MaryAnn Hilleary says:
