This layout is from the 6×6 Desktop Calendar that I am making for a Christmas gift. The two sided design makes flipping the pages a little confusing sometimes, so I always use post-it notes and the template that comes with the calendar to label the pages before I start. I also like to use matching Designer Series paper on the pages for a month. That makes it easy for the recipient to know which scrapbook page goes with which month.
To make this monochromatic page, I used the Flowers for You Designer Series paper with Regal Rose card stock and ink. For the months, I used the Short Order Alphabet. Instead of trying to line up my letters, I used the 1″ circle punch to punch out the capital letter and the 3/4″ circle punch to punch out the lowercase letters. The circles are much easier to line up! I used the Tag Corner punch to clip the corners of the photo and make the top edges of the tag. “Rachel” is stamped on the tag with the Rough Edges Mini Alphabet and the butterfly is from Perennial Favorites. I used the Horizontal slot punch on the top of the tag, used some ribbon from the Fairy Tale ribbon originals and secured it in place with silver cord. The tag is attached to the page with Stampin’ Dimensionals – my favorite accessory!
