Think Happy Thoughts and Circle Punches

For a quick gift, make some 3×3 gift cards and a matching gift box to put them in.  (Click here for directions on how to make the box.)  For the cards shown here, I used one of my favorite stamp sets. Think Happy Thoughts has a variety of different sayings and coordinates perfectly with all of the Stampin’ Up! circle punches. After stamping a circle image, turn a 1-1/4″ circle punch upside down, center the stamped image inside the circle and punch.  Layer on a 1-3/8″ circle punched with coordinating card stock.  The flower stamp fits perfectly in the 3/4″…

Dry Embossing without a light table!

  Have you ever tried to dry emboss dark card stock using a light table?  It is almost impossible to see through dark heavy card stock!  Here’s a great technique for dry embossing on dark card stock: 1. Stamp an image onto the card stock.  For the sample shown here I used the swirl from Season of Joy.  You want to select a detail image will look good even if you don’t get all the details just right. 2. Thanksgiving Card

Here’s a simple card using the Apple Cider designer series paper for a quick and colorful background.  The pumpkin is stamped in Basic Black ink and then colored in with markers.  Use the brush tip of the Pumpkin Pie marker and sweep it from the top of the pumpkin to the bottom to mimic the lines on a real pumpkin.  Then highlight the solid black lines with Really Rust.
